Hi, I’m Joelli Wahlig.
Welcome to The Healing Academy! I am so glad you are here. Taking the first step toward therapy—for yourself or for your child—can feel overwhelming. You do not have to have everything figured out before you begin. My goal is to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and welcoming from the very first session, and to meet you with whatever support you need along the way.
-
If you’re seeking counseling for your child, I know that decision often comes with a lot of questions. We will work together closely to support your child and your family as a whole.
During the first session, I typically meet with parents and the child together so I can gain a more complete understanding of what brings you to counseling. I will also spend time meeting individually with your child, as their perspective on what’s happening in their world is incredibly important. I believe children do best when they feel heard and supported, and I strive to meet them where they are while maintaining clear, open communication with parents throughout the process.
-
Working with me is collaborative and client-centered. No one knows you better than you. My role is to walk alongside you as you navigate challenges, explore strengths, and work toward your goals.
You can expect a genuine, judgment-free space where you feel seen, supported, and encouraged to move at your own pace. Sessions are guided by your needs and priorities, and we will work together to determine what feels most helpful for you.
-
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know one another. We’ll talk about what brings you in, what you’re hoping for, and any questions or concerns you may have. There is no pressure to share everything at once—therapy is a process, and we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
-
If you have questions before your first session, or something comes up along the way, you are welcome to reach out to me.
